History:
The 12 Sons of Jacob are spiritual fathers (Patriarchs) of the human race. They were Godly men of stainless character. God made a covenant with them as He had made with the three Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and to covenant their descendants owe their preservation. Jacob's twelve sons give a complete picture of God's earthly people. In accordance with God's governmental ways they are blessed together, for in scripture the number twelve is always connected with God's rule over all His people.The first three Sons of Jacob shows us natural man's corruption. Three sons are special types of Christ and show us how He intervenes. The third group of three marks the downward line of Israel's decline and ultimate apostasy. In the last group of three we have an upward line again, and we learn how Israel will be restored and will see the salvation of the Lord.

The mission of the Morning Star Women of Prayer is to bring together women seeking to do the will of God.

To be drawn closer to our heavenly Father in blessed conversation (prayer) for the good of our relationship with God, family, church, community and nation. This ministry is centered on the script Matt. 18:20, " For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Also, Rev. 12:16, “...I am the Bright and Morning Star." The Morning Star Women of Prayer commit to live and share, that, * Jesus is the comforting light in a dark world until the dawn of His return. We desire to be women ministering to other women in our church and in the community.

The mission of the choirs is to uplift the word of God through song; to give melodious voice to the healing power of God's message so that all who hear may find instruction, comfort, peace and joy. To lead each service in singing. To be faithful to practice and preparation. To be punctual. Serve whenever possible outside the confines of Sunday Morning worship service. Let God's love and spirit show through us as we perform in His honor.

The mission of the Altha Grove Usher Ministries is to assist in and promote the worship of God which includes preparing for worship, maintaining order and decency, and acting as host for God, doing the work of an Evangelist and promoting public relations.   There are forty four members of the Senior Usher Ministry including four honoary members.

The mission of the Youth Department is to coorfinate and promote the church's total program of religious educational and recreational activities.

The Christian Education Board of Altha Grove Baptist Church will endeavor to minister to the educational needs of its congregation from its youngest to its oldest member. It will have the responsibility of organizing, administering and supervising the entire educational program of the Church so that there is consistency and uniformity in the curriculum for all age groups. The educational program of the Church will include the Nursery Ministry, Sunday School, Vacation Bible school, Youth Development, Music Ministry and all ministries involved in the operation of Altha Grove Baptist Church. The Ministry shall be responsible for: studying the educational needs of the Church; determining the impact of these needs on current schedules, housing, equipment and classes; enlisting educational leaders; training educational leaders; writing, evaluating the curriculum and the materials/tools needed to implement the educational program; preparing and submitting the educational budget to the Trustee Board

We are a mission-minded mobilizing church that wants to transform our community and world for Jesus Christ.  By the Grace of God we will help all we can when we can.

The mission of the Sanctuary Club is to help with the beautification of the church and the pulpit.
